Millennials Shaping the World
A lot has been happening!
Over the weekend, I met 41 totally inspiring, super action-orientated individuals as part of a retreat for the Australian and New Zealand World Economic Forum Global Shapers.
I'm sure you've seen all my posts about the Doing Good Podcast and how I keep harping on about different ways that we can all create impact BUT, when you actually meet FOURTY ONE other people, who are from all different backgrounds, industries and careers actually doing it and living it, you REALLY feel it.
Meeting everyone this weekend really made me proud to be a Global Shaper and motivated me to keep pushing so, watch this space!
“Today’s youth are the best equipped to change the world and no one believes this more than we do”
What are Global Shapers?
Global Shapers is a community of over 5000 young people from 430+ cities around the world, led by the World Economic Forum. Shapers are between 20-34, from all different industries, professions and walks of life, all with the common goal to shape the world and improve their local communities. Hubs are established in each city and led by Curators to drive impact.
Shapers are highly motivated individuals who have a great potential for future leadership roles in society. They are selected on the basis of their achievements, leadership potential, and commitment to make a difference.
Through the Global Shapers Community, Shapers are provided with opportunities to connect with the worldwide network of Global Shapers, to network with other World Economic Forum communities, and to represent the voice of youth at World Economic Forum events. Shapers are united by a common desire to channel the members’ tremendous energy and enthusiasm into building a more peaceful and inclusive world.
I highly recommend you check out this piece by Kirk-Anthony Hamilton a Global Shaper from the Kingston Hub in Jamaica, who wrote about his experience as a Curator attending the Annual Curators Meeting in 2015 - where all the Curators from all around the world meet annually to share ideas, learn from each other and collaborate together.

Awesome! We'd love to hear from you. For the upcoming year we're looking at stepping up our activities and presence in the region so, it would be great to hear about what you're working on and how we can get involved. There are also lots of ideas looking for backing in terms of funding and resources so your support will go a long way!
